Machine Operator - Plastic Thermoforming

ABR is seeking Machine Operators for on a variety of shifts and schedules with pay rates from $20-$22 an hour.

The Machine Operator is responsible for preparation, set-up, start and running manufacturing equipment under the guidance of the Production Shift Leader. Accountabilities also include ensuring that jobs meet quality specifications, manufacturing standards and that safety procedures are followed while working to continuously improve quality and productivity of manufacturing operations .
They are responsible for performing this production work in a factory environment.
This local company makes plastic packaging for a variety of products and other worldwide companies.
We have a few differnet shifts available, some of which are 12-hour, some on a rotating schedule and others that are weekend only.
We also have more traditional 8-hour 2nd and 3rd shifts available.
Training for both shifts may on another schedule 2-6 weeks.
You'd start out working the back end of the line and help with packaging as part of learning about all aspects of the machine operation.
Machine operation Set-up, operate and troubleshoot equipment to produce thermoformed parts to specification.
Ensure maximum efficiency of set-up to include set-up time, materials, production rate and material consumption.
Machine readiness – inspect machinery, equipment, and tooling prior to set-up.
Identify issues, which adversely affect product requirements and communicate with appropriate department personnel for resolution.
Perform routine maintenance and cleaning.
Identify nonconforming materials/products and work with shift leader for resolution.
Follow Lock-Out Tagout Procedures.
Quality Ensure part quality meets established standards.
Perform housekeeping duties.
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
Follow and maintain SQF (safe quality food) practices and perform established SPC quality (sysco process control) checks.
Communication Complete all shift documentation/paperwork.
Shift hand-off – go over job status and updates with incoming shift.
Safety Participate in safety programs.
Follow all established safety procedures.
Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.
Computer and Software Ability to operate a computer.
Minimum Qualifications One (1) year manufacturing experience.
Mechanical aptitude.
Ability to read, write and speak English to meet training, safety and quality requirements.
Ability to operate a forklift safely.
