Audit Manager (Hybrid – NYC or White Plains, NY)
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented
Audit Manager
to join the team. The ideal candidate will oversee and manage audit engagements, ensure compliance with professional standards, and supervise and mentor audit team members. This role also plays a key part in maintaining client relationships and supporting business development efforts. Key Responsibilities Plan, manage, and execute audit engagements, ensuring adherence to professional standards and deadlines Supervise and mentor audit staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback Review and evaluate audit work papers, financial statements, and other deliverables for quality, accuracy, and completeness Identify and communicate audit findings and recommendations to clients clearly and effectively Maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and timely issue resolution Collaborate with partners and senior management on risk management, accounting policies, and industry developments Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements, professional standards, and internal policies Support business development by identifying and pursuing new client opportunities Stay current on industry best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging trends Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required) CPA or CPA candidate Minimum of 5 years of experience in a CPA firm, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role Must have non-profit experience (required) Familiarity with Uniform Guidance and construction industry audits (a plus) Strong knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and auditing/accounting principles Experience with CCH Engagement, Microsoft Office Suite, and Intuit products (preferred) Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Detail-oriented, able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively Ability to work independently and as part of a team Job Type Full-time Schedule: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM EST, hybrid (increased hours during busy season) Location NYC or White Plains, NY (must be able to reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting) Salary: $140K – $165K annually (commensurate with experience) Health, dental, and vision insurance (options for fully paid employee-only health/dental coverage) Company-paid life and long-term disability insurance Supplemental insurance options (short-term disability, additional life) 401(k) plan with employer contributions Supportive, inclusive workplace culture Equal opportunity employer — applicants considered without regard to race, gender identity, age, disability, sexual orientation, or other protected characteristics.
