Position Description
The CRM Implementation Specialist will serve as the day-to-day CRM implementation partner for multiple institutions by building and executing CRM technical configurations and training. Reporting to the VP of the Technology Hub, the Specialist will 1) ensure implementations succeed day-to-day, while building institutional trust and guiding process reengineering, and 2) act as the critical feedback loop from institutions to inform refinements and keep improving CRM solutions.
Responsibilities
Provide direct, hands-on CRM configuration and troubleshooting
by leading system setup, testing, and adjustments to ensure alignment with institutional processes. Drive day-to-day implementation activities
with institutions, collaborating closely with the Project Lead so that institutional context and functional requirements inform all configuration decisions. Serve as a frontline guide and thought partner for institutions,
supporting business process reengineering, balancing technical possibilities with institutional realities, and helping stakeholders consider options they may not think to ask for—always maintaining a respectful, collaborative partnership. Address real-time challenges and escalate complex issues appropriately,
resolving what can be handled directly while escalating issues to the Vice President of the Technology Hub. Document implementation progress and evolving needs
while managing updates to project plans under the guidance and approval of other Ed Advancement staff, ensuring scope, timelines, and resources remain aligned with organizational expectations. Deliver training and post-implementation support
as needed that equips institutional teams for confident daily CRM use and prepares them for long-term adoption. Contribute frontline insights to reusable implementation resources and service evolution,
working with other Ed Advancement staff to develop and refine institutional project plans, CRM playbooks, onboarding guides, and training materials, while also surfacing institutional feedback and retraining needs to strengthen mature CRM services. Qualifications Minimum of three years (five years preferred) of progressive experience in CRM implementation, in a higher education setting required. Experience at multiple organizations and/or institutions preferred. Three or more years of experience in and familiarity with admissions, enrollment, or student success business processes at a public or private not-for-profit college or university setting required. Familiarity with advancement functions preferred. Expertise in Slate by Technolutions CRM required, including a deep understanding of front-end usage, configuration, integration, and functional optimization. Strong project management skills with demonstrated experience leading CRM implementations and coordinating cross-functional teams in higher education environments. Familiarity with CRM platforms (especially Slate), student information systems (SIS), and related administrative technologies used in enrollment, student success, and/or advancement. Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills; ability to manage relationships with institutional partners, consultants, and internal teams. Ability to manage competing priorities, maintain structured workflows, and track progress across multiple implementation projects. A demonstrated passion for Ed Advancement’s mission. Working Conditions or Other Requirements Ed Advancement has offices in New York, NY, and Washington, DC. This full-time, exempt, hybrid position, regularly or occasionally reports to one of our offices as determined by the Vice President, Tech Hub, and in accordance with organizational policies. This position will involve access to confidential information and highly sensitive matters, which must be handled tactfully and carefully. Employees must securely manage all data and non-public information. Occasional weekend and evening hours, travel to partner institutions, and other travel may be required. Proximity to one of our offices (New York City and Washington, DC) is preferred. Compensation and Benefits Hiring salary range: $80,000 – $110,000, based on qualifications and experience.
