Visionist is bidding on an upcoming PRIME contract and is seeking Systems Administrators to join our team at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC.
Overview You will advance the future of maritime domain awareness by enhancing global ship tracking systems. You’ll leverage state-of-the-art analytics, multi-INT fusion, and cutting-edge technologies to detect and disrupt illicit activities at sea—including smuggling, trafficking, illegal fishing, and waste dumping—while also preventing terrorism, securing global commerce, and strengthening U.S. homeland defense.

Your contributions
Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and system software
Perform system upgrades, apply patches, and resolve software-related issues
Monitor system performance, integrity, and availability of key resources
Conduct regular system backups and recovery, ensuring data integrity and availability
Manage user accounts, access controls, and system permissions
Troubleshoot and repair hardware/software failures while coordinating with stakeholders as needed
Develop and maintain installation, configuration, and operational procedures
Optimize system performance through tuning, upgrades, and resource allocation
Requirements for Your New Career
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline. (Additional higher education may substitute years of experience)
3 years of experience in system administration
Hands-on experience with installing, configuring, and maintaining servers, services, and storage
Knowledge of operating system patching, upgrades, and configuration management
Proficiency with system backups, recovery, and performance monitoring
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Familiarity with standard system administration concepts, practices, and procedures
