Overview
Our client is a master planning and landscape architecture firm that specializes in large-scale mixed-use, destination entertainment, resort, and hospitality-related projects. We're hiring a Principal Landscape Architect to assume a leadership role within their boutique-sized firm. The firm is in great financial state, has a strong backlog of projects & clients, and this opening is created due to growth. The Principal Landscape Architect leads and manages complex landscape architecture projects, providing technical oversight, mentoring staff, building client relationships, and contributing to business development, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and effectively. Responsibilities
Perform the functions and duties of a Senior Associate and other related tasks as required. Work with the studio management team for the daily running and also the development of the studio Work collaboratively with the team to develop design at a high level. Provide design leadership and mentoring to the landscape studio staff Ability to work from downtown Kansas City office Manage projects through all aspects of the design process, specifically at the early design stages Assist with the financial performance of studio projects Coordinate with internal disciplines and manage the activities of sub-consultants for the delivery of projects. Assist the business development team in the preparation of technical and financial proposals. Attend project meetings as required Required Skills & Qualifications
Demonstrate a team oriented and collaborative approach to landscape architecture within the design team. Demonstrate an expert understanding of the regional construction industry, local construction methods and their influence on design decisions. Demonstrate a solid commitment to quality design. Demonstrate solid communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders. Possess self-motivation, work part of the team but also have the ability to work independently. Demonstrate an understanding of key design related computer programs such as BIM, Adobe suites and 3D modelling software such as Sketch Up and Rhino Ability to travel both domestically and internationally for periods of up to two (2) weeks. Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from an accredited University or College program. Minimum sixteen (16+) years of continuous experience in landscape architecture. International experience is preferred Possess or be working towards professional registration, licensure or charter ship with an internationally recognized professional association - ASLA /ULI. Salary commensurate with experience $100k-125k+ plus aggressive bi-annual bonus plan. Bi-annual performance review and potential salary adjustment and outlay of accrued production revenue. Health, Vision, and Dental Insurance, Individual premium covered 100% by company. Flexible Time Off (FTO) policy. Opportunity to participate in revenue sharing compensation plan.
