The position includes membership of the USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center and an academic appointment through USC Keck School of Medicine at the level of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor, appropriate to training and experience.

Program context The Leukemia/Lymphoma Program at CHLA is one of the largest in the nation and sees approximately 120 new patients each year. The program has robust clinical, translational, and basic science research infrastructure, and CHLA is the headquarters for The Therapeutic Advances in Childhood Leukemia/Lymphoma (TACL) Consortium. Other program highlights include comprehensive genomic characterization, bench-to-bedside investigations of novel agents, and leading cellular therapies. The program maintains a close partnership with the CBDI’s Transplantation and Cellular Therapy Program, which performs 80–100 transplants and 20–40 CAR T-cell therapies annually. The CBDI has a cell processing laboratory and cGMP facility, and is accredited by the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT) and the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP).

The CBDI is the largest and top-ranked pediatric hematology-oncology program in the western United States. The U.S. News & World Report ranked CHLA #8 and the CBDI #14 in the nation in 2022-23. The CBDI has a large clinical trials operation supporting programs in hematology, oncology, and transplantation/cellular therapy. CBDI investigators conduct extensive bench-to-bedside research. Research funding in FY22 totaled $54 million with $9 million in new awards.
