The position is responsible for day-to-day leadership and management of the restaurant and its staff as well as continued focus on store strategic initiatives. This includes accountability for planning, organizing and directing all restaurant functions, including guest services, food and beverage, inventory management, safety and sanitation as well as restaurant receipts. The purpose of this position is to profitably and efficiently operate the restaurant. Responsibilities
Oversee and manage all areas of the restaurant achieving defined organizational results. Adhere to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs, including food, beverage, supply, utility and labor costs. Ensure that all financial (invoices, reporting) and personnel/payroll related administrative duties are completed accurately, on time and in accordance with company policies and procedures. Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance. Ensure consistent high quality of food preparation and service; ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies and local laws. Maintain professional restaurant image, including cleanliness, uniforms, and appearance standards. Estimate food and beverage costs; work with corporate office staff for provisioning and purchasing; supervise portion control to minimize waste. Estimate food needs, place orders, and schedule delivery of supplies. Must be ServSafe certified; uphold all ServSafe guidelines. Ensure proper security procedures to protect employees, guests and assets. Maintain a safe working and guest environment; complete accident reports as needed. Manage shifts, scheduling, planning, and uphold standards, product quality and cleanliness. Investigate and resolve complaints concerning quality and service. Provide direction to employees regarding operational issues; interview hourly employees and direct hiring, supervision, development and termination when necessary. Conduct training, explain restaurant history, and oversee orientation. Develop employees with ongoing feedback, performance expectations, and reviews. Maintain staffing plans and schedules to cover all shifts. Follow all MH Restaurants policies and procedures; attend mandatory meetings; perform other tasks as assigned; cross-train as directed. Maintain dress code and uniform standards; complete required training via the company portal. Avoid gaps in work schedule; demonstrate ethical business practices and integrity; ensure safety in all duties. Qualifications
College degree in hospitality management or acceptable industry experience. Minimum of 10 years in hospitality, with 5 years of management experience. Excellent communication skills with customers and employees. Knowledge of computer applications (MS Word, MS Excel, restaurant software). Understanding of operating budgets. Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions. Knowledge and experience in restaurant management. Positive interpersonal skills; commitment to quality service and food/beverage knowledge. Must work nights, weekends and some holidays. Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
