Project Manager

to join our team for an exciting and highly visible project. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the project team and has at least 15+ years of heavy/civil general contracting construction experience on a NYCDDC, NYSDOT and/or NYCDOT construction project, and prior experience managing a team on at least one project > $75M. The candidate should be comfortable taking on many tasks that require various skills and appropriately prioritizing those tasks for completion. Responsibilities

Project Manager is responsible for the overall direction, completion, and financial outcome of complex construction projects. Also responsible for providing technical engineering and information to ensure construction work complies with all engineering standards to support the project. Understand and be familiar with NYC Heavy Civil type projects (IE: Utility work, Waste/Stormwater sewer & Watermain work). Establish and maintain working relationships with owners, agencies, subcontractors, inspectors, etc., providing customer service to develop long-term partnerships with the client base. Administer the company’s safety program to provide a safe work environment for all self-performed and subcontracted operations. Provide observations, attend safety meetings, and ensure compliance with safety initiatives. Perform accurate project revenue and cost forecasting to ensure profitability goals are met. Coordinate with estimators and project controls to establish budget. Lead estimating efforts on vertically integrated projects to ensure accurate bid-to-build processes. Coordinate with project team to develop a comprehensive plan for project start-up and successful kick-off. Ensure proper job controls, i.e., quantities, costs, revenue, and schedule are maintained. Generate and/or adapt to company quality requirements and culture, recognizing the impact of quality on all operations. Support field superintendent & field foreman/labor crews to ensure productivity, efficient use of materials & equipment, and contractual performance; oversee and manage assigned subcontractors. Manage document control items, procurement, assist with subcontract and material progress estimates, and engineering preplanning (work plans, submittals, quantity tracking, RFIs, conflicts identification, production review, cost assistance in monthly cost reviews & quarterly forecasts & scheduling assistance). Manage a staff of up to 10 full-time employees including hiring, termination, and performance reviews. Ensure accurate construction reports for the job to enable continuous improvement. Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Minimum 15 years of relevant and progressive experience in project management in the heavy civil general contractor construction industry. Experience on NYCDDC, NYSDOT and/or NYCDOT construction projects; prior experience managing a team on at least one project > $75M. Familiarity with standard construction rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards. Working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings and specifications, building materials and required standards applicable to the discipline. Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer software. Demonstrated knowledge of construction, engineering and architecture principles. Ability to budget, schedule, negotiate and control costs. Strong leadership, team building and management skills. Ability and willingness to abide by Perfetto Contracting’s Code of Conduct on a daily basis. Valid driver’s license and ability to drive. Valid OSHA 30. $160,000-$210,000 based on experience and competency.
