Design, build, and operate on next-generation data pipeline infrastructure Improve data architecture, quality, discoverability, and access policies to enable and enforce data governance Collaborate with engineers, data analysts, and scientists to ensure that our data infrastructure meets the SLOs of data-intensive customers Develop techniques for monitoring the completeness, correctness, and reliability of data sets Leverage agile practices, encourage collaboration, prioritization, and urgency to develop at a rapid pace Research, share, and recommend new technologies and trends Qualifications
You have a passion for building a reliable, scalable, and fault-tolerant infrastructure Experience with various production data sources, including change data capture systems, event sourcing, and clickstreams Industry experience with real-time data technologies such as Apache Flink Commitment to work-life balance and willing to put in extra effort when needed A desire to work with autonomy while collaborating on highly important company initiatives Must have
3.5+ years of experience with languages like Python or Ruby, Infrastructure as Code, configuration management, and monitoring tools Proficiency in creating consumable tools for platform management Proficiency with CI/CD tooling (e.g., CircleCI, Jenkins) Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) Experience with AWS primitives (IAM, VPC, RDS, S3, MSK, EKS, etc.) Excellent MySQL operational knowledge Bachelor\'s in Computer Science or other quantitative fields Nice to have
Experience with Debezium connector Experience with Kafka, Kafka Connect, and related ecosystem Experience with clickstream tracking technology (e.g., Snowplow) Experience with large-scale Data Lakes/Lake Houses, especially Apache Iceberg Proficiency in RBAC and Data Governance across multiple platforms Experience with FinOps (cloud cost management) Data science skills for analyzing data and communicating with ML engineers Mentoring experience to help develop peers Compensation & Benefits
The base salary/hourly wage for this role is: $104,000 to $130,000. The actual base salary will be determined by factors including skills, education, and experience. Base pay is one component of a total rewards package. About AppFolio
