Senior Director of Talent Solutions at 24 Seven Talent Job Summary
The Activewear Designer is responsible for creating innovative, trend-forward, and functional activewear collections that align with brand identity and customer needs. This role involves concept development, sketching, material sourcing, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet performance, aesthetic, and cost requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Trend Research & Inspiration:
Monitor global fashion, activewear, and lifestyle trends, as well as fabric and technology developments, to inform seasonal collections.
Concept Development:
Create seasonal mood boards, color palettes, and design concepts that reflect brand vision and market trends.
Design Execution:
Develop original activewear designs including tops, bottoms, outerwear, and performance accessories; produce detailed sketches and technical design packs.
Fabric & Trim Selection:
Source and recommend performance fabrics, trims, and finishes that enhance comfort, durability, and functionality (e.g., moisture-wicking, compression, stretch).
Product Development Collaboration:
Work closely with technical design, product development, and production teams to ensure fit, functionality, and quality standards are met.
CAD & Presentation:
Create digital illustrations, renderings, and presentations for internal reviews and buyer meetings.
Fit & Sampling:
Participate in fit sessions and provide feedback to achieve desired silhouette, performance, and comfort.
Brand Consistency:
Ensure all designs align with brand identity, target market, and price point.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, or a related field.
Experience:
3–5+ years of activewear, sportswear, or performance apparel design experience (senior-level roles may require 5–8+ years).
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD; familiarity with 3D design tools (CLO, Browzwear) a plus.
Knowledge:
Strong understanding of garment construction, performance fabrics, and functional design details.
Other Skills:
Excellent sense of color, proportion, and trends; ability to balance creativity with commercial viability. Strong communication and presentation skills.
Creative and trend-savvy with a strong eye for detail
Understanding of performance and athleisure markets
Collaborative team player with cross-functional communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
