Morgan Stanley We are seeking someone to join our MS Global Tax Advisory team as a Director in the Global Tax Department to provide tax compliance and reporting support for the private funds business within Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM). The funds include real estate funds, infrastructure funds and private credit and private equity funds in its New York office. In the Finance division, we partner with business units around the globe by providing management, review, analysis and advisory services of the Firm's financial and capital resources. This is a Director level position within the Tax & Advisory job family which ensures compliance with income and indirect tax filings, reports tax information for the Firm’s regulatory filings, manages the Firm’s global tax authority relationships, including tax controversy, and monitors relevant tax regulations and legislation. Additional responsibilities include managing the Firm’s domestic and international tax strategies, determining the Firm’s transfer pricing policies and advising Senior Management and BUs on business products, strategic transactions and restructuring objectives. What You\'ll Do In The Role Collaborate with a varied group of colleagues in Finance and across the Firm Responsible for and lead aspects of individual and team deliverables and projects, leveraging in-depth knowledge of Finance functional area, product and/or client segments Adhere to the Firm\'s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls; proactively identify ways to reduce risk in work Act as a culture carrier; embody and set an example of the Firm\'s values and hold yourself and others accountable to Firm standards Help to manage and administer tax engagements with service providers Assist with high-level review of Federal, State and Local tax compliance prepared by tax service providers; coordinating and monitoring to ensure accuracy and timeliness Assist with tax calendars and scheduling of deliverables Processing payments to taxing authorities and delivery of tax filings Collaborate with consultants, Controllers, and other support groups to gather needed information Assist with the audit of fund financial statements and recurring tax provision processes Collaborate with consultants and service providers in connection with federal and state and local tax audits or inquiries and prepare responses to tax notices Assist with FATCA / CRS reporting and related engagements with service providers Develop and maintain relationships with various other departments What You\'ll Bring To The Role In-depth knowledge of Finance functional area, product and/or client segment and technical skills, as well as of industry and competitive environment Ability to operate independently with respect to most job responsibilities Ability to provide positive and constructive feedback and innovate processes Motivated, team-oriented self-starter who desires exposure to a broad range of tax issues and can work effectively and efficiently with all levels of personnel, adept at working in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment Willingness to be hands-on as well as a desire to manage special projects Strong organizational skills; strong oral and written communications skills are a plus Requires a minimum of five years of tax experience, with public accounting experience a plus.
