Vice President Business Development I am currently partnering with a dynamic global biotech company with a strong and diverse pipeline focused on oncology and immunology. The company is publicly listed and well-capitalized, with successfully launched drug products that now generates over $100 million in annual revenue. With numerous compounds in global development and plenty of active clinical trials worldwide, the company is backed by $750 million in cash reserves — providing a stable and solid foundation to deliver continued growth. They are now strategically focused on expanding their presence in the U.S. through high-value licensing deals with major global partners. This role will report directly to the CEO and will be responsible for leading global business development strategy and transactions across the organization. Job duties - Present well-reasoned scientific and commercial justifications for transaction proposals to senior leadership. - Collaborate closely with senior management to shape the company’s vision, strategy, and business plans aimed at securing key strategic partnerships and high-impact deals. - Drive the evaluation and initiation of potential business opportunities, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), licensing agreements, joint ventures, and other strategic alliances. - Lead the sourcing, due diligence, and execution of both in-licensing and out-licensing transactions. - Serve as an external representative of the company at partnering and investor conferences, and help cultivate and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders in the financial and business communities. - Promote continuous improvement and capability development within the team. Qualifications Preferably a PhD in life sciences, MSc as a minimum Extensive industry experience working in international business development across large multinational corporations and small biotech companies A demonstrable track record of identifying, evaluating and successfully negotiating business deals in the pharma sector. Outlicensing is mandatory.
