The Staff Physician provides direct patient care and emergency services in an effort to ensure that patient health care needs are met at all times. Responsibilities
Patient Care: Provides direct patient care in the office and at other locations, develops treatment plans, and assesses patient's response to treatment while ensuring that all health care services provided are of the highest quality. Emergency Care: Provides high quality emergency care to patients on an on-call basis and in rotation with other physicians in an effort to ensure that patient health care needs are met at all times (Industrial Medical Center's Staff Physician does not provide on-call services). Quality and Performance Improvement: Investigates new techniques, practices, and equipment in an effort to identify ways of maximizing the quality and efficiency of health care services provided to patients. Quality Improvement Programs: Assists in the development and implementation of continuous quality improvement programs and participates in multi-disciplinary continuous quality improvement efforts. Helps ensure all department services are performed with compassion, understanding, and respect for others. Policies and Mission: Ensures appropriate application of the hospital's mission and philosophy and departmental and hospital policies and procedures to promote high quality care and departmental effectiveness. Professional Development: Promotes quality and efficiency by staying current with trends through seminars, workshops, conferences, and affiliations with professional organizations. Collaboration: Collaborates with other physicians to ensure provision of high quality medical care and technologically advanced services by the hospital. Education and Training: Participates in educational programs and training sessions to share expertise with staff, volunteers, and students. Other Duties: Performs other duties as assigned or requested. Qualifications
Experience, Education, Training, Special Skills, and Licensure: MD Current unrestricted Louisiana Medical License Seniority level
