Overview
Montefiore Medical Center's distinguished Gastroenterologists perform approximately 14,000 procedures annually, using the most advanced endoscopy and colonoscopy technology to treat disorders of the digestive system. This opportunity is to join our team of 12 FT Gastroenterology faculty and 1 NP based at our Weiler campus. We are in the process of hiring 1-2 PAs in the next few months to add to our growing team. Responsibilities
All GI procedures are performed; GI inpatient care is strictly consultative. The consult service is staffed by GI fellows at all times and supervised by all faculty members on a rotating basis. Generally, there are 3-8 new consults per day. Inpatient consult service coverage is 5-6 weeks per year. Fellow endoscopy coverage is 1-2 day sessions per week. The remainder is outpatient care with time in a modern, LPN-staffed ambulatory site (Hutch Tower or Taxter Road) and ambulatory endoscopy center (New York GI). The more common procedures include colonoscopy with polyp removal, upper endoscopy, ERCP, endoscopic ultrasound, esophageal and rectal manometry, liver biopsy, capsule endoscopy, endoscopic reflux therapy, and GI motility services. First, a member of the Gastrointestinal Division thoroughly evaluates each patient, educates the patient about his or her condition and treatment options, and determines a treatment plan. If an endoscopy is required, the patient receives the procedure at the endoscopy unit or at our nearby Ambulatory Endoscopy Center. Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package. Salary range: $400,000-$420,000, with the opportunity to earn more through productivity incentives. Benefits include LTD, STD, paid malpractice, health, dental, vision and a 403(b). Qualifications
