Hospital Consult Liaison Psychiatrist Per Diem

This is a hospital-based position that works cooperatively with the medical, surgical, emergency and social work services to address the complex medical and behavioral health needs of patients receiving care at Virginia Mason Medical Center. This includes providing care for people experiencing delirium, mood, psychotic, anxiety, substance use, and somatic symptom disorders, and other conditions. The Consultation-Liaison psychiatry service also works closely with patients in the hospital under Involuntary Treatment Act with Single Bed Certification. The Consultation-Liaison psychiatrists have an important role in the education of clinical teams about behavioral health care, including multiple residency programs. Schedule/Call - The consult psychiatry team works weekdays taking consults from 9-5:30 pm or 8-4:30 pm, 5 days per week. There are currently no overnight or weekend responsibilities for team members as this is currently covered by an outside tele psychiatry service.
