We’re hiring a hands-on General Manager to lead operations at the Sarasota County Landfill. This is not a desk job—you’ll be directly involved in daily operations while driving efficiency, safety, and performance. Sarasota County Landfill Base pay range $100.00/yr - $160.00/yr What You’ll Do
Run day-to-day landfill operations, including waste disposal, equipment, and site upkeep. Lead, train, and motivate crews to meet safety, compliance, and productivity goals. Take ownership of budgets, schedules, and resources to keep projects on track and within cost. Ensure all operations meet county, state, and federal compliance standards. Work side by side with the team to troubleshoot issues, optimize processes, and improve efficiency. Build strong working relationships with county officials, contractors, and community partners. Push forward sustainability efforts and smart waste management practices. What We’re Looking For
5+ years of solid waste management experience (landfill operations strongly preferred). Proven success managing high-volume operations and leading teams. Solid knowledge of regulatory and environmental compliance. Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills. Comfortable with budgets, planning, and making operational decisions. Bachelor’s degree in a related field a plus, but equivalent experience works too. Why This Job Matters
