Responsibilities Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) render direct patient care to an assigned group of patients, in accordance with the philosophy, policies and procedures of Northside Hospital. LPNs participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care. LPNs work under the direction of the Registered Nurse in an assigned clinical area.

The LPN role supports collaborative teamwork with other healthcare professionals to improve a patient’s function and protect their health and safety. LPNs are part of the Licensed Practical Nurse - Nursing Excellence Track Program (L-NEXT) at Northside Hospital and have opportunities for career advancement through additional knowledge, expertise through academic/continuing education, and specialty certification.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing.

Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Georgia.

American Heart Association Basic Life Support.

Preferred Qualifications

One (1) year of experience as an LPN.

Additional Life Support credential (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) or other clinical specialty certifications may be preferred in specific units.

Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units.
