We are rapidly growing in Sandusky, Ohio at our two locations as well as in Norwalk, Ohio and surrounding areas. Position

The assistant to the medical director plays a key role in supporting both clinical leadership and administrative functions, ensuring efficient operations and high standards of quality patient care. This role involves managing the medical director’s schedule, rooming patients, triaging, vital signs, giving injections when required, and helping develop and implement medical standards, mentoring clinical staff, and acting as a liaison for the medical director, staff, patients, and external entities; coordinating meetings with other members of leadership, preparing reports, and handling correspondence. Responsibilities

Triage responsibilities, gather patient history, vital signs, chief complaints and verify medication and allergies on days the medical director sees patients. Collaborate on patient care initiatives, quality improvement, and health programs. Manage the Medical Director's calendar and schedule appointments. Coordinate meetings and prepare agendas and minutes. Handle correspondence and general administrative tasks. Assist with preparing reports and other documents for the Medical Director as needed. Must have an understanding of legal and ethical issues. Must have de-escalation skills. Must have the communication skills needed to converse with our Behavioral Health population. Scheduling and managing patient appointments and referrals with required documentation. Clean, prepare, and sterilize instruments. Performs electrocardiograms, phlebotomy, and laboratory procedures as directed by health care provider, including but not limited to pregnancy tests, strep tests, urine dips, hemoglobin, and blood sugar testing. Sending daily report in AM and PM of clinic operations to supervisor (Charge Nurse), Medical Director, and team. Office supply ordering, collaborate with other leads for efficient spending practices. Clinic supply ordering (McKesson, MedLine) and LAB supplies from Firelands (this is a separate system). Daily scheduling of assignments. Contributing to problem resolution for staff and patients. Maintain records and assist with compliance or regulatory tasks. Other duties as assigned. Work Environment

This job operates in a health care setting as well as within the community. This role requires regular walking to various locations around the building. This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This job has frequent exposure to dust, outside exposure, cleaning agents, and animals. Physical Demands

Physical demands include lifting up to 30 pounds daily, carrying up to 30 pounds daily, 1-2 hours of standing at a time, 5-10 minutes of walking at a time throughout the day, sitting 15-30 minutes at a time. Color distinction is necessary, and no greater loss of hearing than 40dB average for 500, 1000, 2000 Hz. Travel

Minimal, with possible occasional travel to other site locations within local area. Required Education And Experience

LPN required. Preferred 2-3 years of experience in clinical or community resource setting or care coordination/case management. Knowledge about local connections to community health care and social welfare resources. Applicant must be organized and able to prioritize assignments. Must be able to do multi-tasking, problem-solving, and have decision-making skills. Follow detailed instructions with attention to detail. Ability to work with a culturally diverse group of people. Must be proficient in computer knowledge – Microsoft Office, Excel. Excellent typing skills. EMR experience a plus. Knowledge of medical terminology. Good customer relationship skills and a strong work ethic. Applicant must possess independence and initiative. Work Authorization/Security Clearance
