Overview

Big Data Systems Engineer (Remote) at KBR. The position supports the Test Resource Management Center’s (TRMC) Big Data (BD) and Knowledge Management (KM) Team, deploying BD and KM systems for DoD testing ranges and acquisition programs. The role involves deployment, integration, and customer interaction for CHEETAS (Cloud Hybrid Edge-to-Enterprise Evaluation Test & Analysis Suite) across DoD ranges and labs. Responsibilities

Deploy and integrate CHEETAS at multiple DoD ranges and labs. Serve as the frontline interface with customers during CHEETAS deployment in DoD Range and lab environments. Collaborate with system administrators and software developers to document and resolve deployment issues. Deploy CHEETAS within customer environments and disparate DoD testing ranges and acquisition programs with varying hardware stacks and ecosystems, including environments with limited or no internet connectivity. Work Environment

Location: Remote (work from home or KBR facilities with a stable internet connection). Travel: ~25% (surges up to 50%) to support end users at DoD Ranges and Labs across the US (including Alaska and Hawaii). Working Hours: Standard. Basic Qualifications/Knowledge

Active TS/SCI Security Clearance. Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics or related) with 10 years of DoD experience. Entry-level Big Data Engineers will NOT be considered. 3 years of hands-on experience with SQL Server Big Data Cluster, CentOS, Ubuntu, RedHat, Windows Server, VMware, etc.; 5 years in big data environments. Experience deploying and configuring Big Data and Knowledge Management tools in an enterprise environment and troubleshooting big data ecosystems. Strong communication skills to assist customers with installation and configuration of big data infrastructure. Ability to troubleshoot under pressure, communicate technical topics to diverse audiences, and work independently with recommended design/analysis/development choices. Experience with tools/technologies including NFS, SMB, S3, SQL Server, Windows Server, Windows 10/11, Linux (CentOS, Ubuntu, RedHat). Willingness to learn new processes or CHEETAS nuances every Agile sprint (~every 6 weeks) prior to customer deployment. Ability to present findings to large groups and document procedures. Travel requirement of 25% with surges up to 50% to support DoD ranges and labs. Preferred Qualifications

Experience in government/defense labs and DoD acquisition programs. Knowledge of TENA, JMETC, and distributed testing/training. Experience working in distributed teams and mentoring engineers. Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity policies. Compensation

Base pay range: $142,400.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr. The offered rate will be based on location, knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, clearance level, and internal parity. Additional compensation may include bonuses, relocation benefits, short/long-term incentives, or discretionary payments. Locations with specific ranges: $142,400 - $180,000 (Denver, CO); $148,900 - $200,000 (Los Angeles, CA); $148,900 - $200,000 (Washington, DC). Equal Opportunity
