Responsibilities
Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
Lead the month-end and year-end close processes; prepare and review financial statements for multiple properties and entities.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and industry-specific accounting requirements.
Review property-level financials and provide variance analysis against budgets and forecasts.
Oversee cash management, reconciliations, and capital expenditure tracking.
Coordinate annual audits and tax filings with external auditors and tax advisors.
Implement and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures to support growth and compliance.
Assist in accounting for complex structures such as partnerships, joint ventures, and intercompany transactions.
Supervise, mentor, and develop staff accountants.
Partner with senior leadership to support strategic initiatives, acquisitions, and financings.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred.
5–8 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in the real estate sector (investment, development, or property management).
Solid knowledge of GAAP and real estate accounting practices.
Experience with consolidations, joint ventures, and multi-entity environments.
Proficiency with real estate ERP/accounting systems (Yardi, MRI, or similar preferred).
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with multiple priorities.
