Title: Lecturer, CC (Biology) Position Number: 0002LEC Hiring Unit: Math & Sciences Location: Kapi‘olani Community College Date Posted: September 29, 2025 Closing Date: Continuous Recruitment Salar y : Minimum $1,978 per credit hour; subject to lecturer placement Full Time/Part Time: Part Time Temporary/Permanent: Temporary Funding: General Funds Other Conditions: For placement into the lecturer pool beginning Spring 2026. Subject to availability of funds and actual staffing requirements. Duties and Responsibilities

Teach courses in the assigned subject area; Prepare course syllabus and reports related to teaching and student progress; Assess student learning in terms of course competencies and program learning outcomes; Submit self-assessment reports based on student and peer evaluations; Work under the general supervision of the discipline coordinator/division chairperson in integrating teaching efforts with other instructors in the discipline area; Maintain one office hour per week for each class taught (20 minutes per credit per week). Classes may be offered online, evenings and/or weekends. Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in Biology, Microbiology, Marine Biology, Molecular and/or Cell Biology, Zoology, Conservation Biology & Environmental Science, Ecology, Global Environmental Science, Natural Resources and Environmental Management, Biomedical Sciences, or any Life Sciences. Desirable Qualifications

Teaching experience at the community college level. Demonstrated ability to work with community college students. Work experience related to course to be taught. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively. Familiarity with competency- and outcomes-based instruction. Work experience or teaching experience in the field of ecology or environmental science. Experience in leading students in service-learning and working with local community environmental organizations. Applications will not be considered if they are incomplete.
