Overview

National Director of Payor Strategy and Market Access and Payer Strategy, reports to the General Manager of LMS, and is responsible for the establishment, development and execution of the payor, managed care, and payer contracting medical policy initiatives in collaboration with BD’s market access and payment policy senior leadership team reimbursement strategy to ensure optimal coverage and maximize reimbursement from Commercial, Medicaid and Medicare plans. The individual will also have direct supervision of the contract administration staff and lead all aspects of vendor management. Responsibilities

Leads the development and execution of the commercial reimbursement strategy including Medicaid and Managed Medicare plans. Responsible and accountable for optimizing the Company’s position and profitability in the insured patient market, aligned to LMS’ goals and initiatives. Translates the broad corporate strategy into clear, specific, and actionable plans within National and Regional Plans. Negotiates with payers to secure favorable pricing and product coverage, preferred networking, and operational terms (i.e. timely filing limits). Develops and promotes the value proposition for LMS products and services to gain market coverage with payers. Negotiates and manages, either directly or indirectly, with managed care providers to ensure the best possible reimbursement for products and services including new product introductions in conjunction with BD’s market access and commercial teams. Conduct strategic business reviews at least quarterly with Key Accounts defining gap coverages, including the development of the strategy, and gathering marketing materials & data to support the priority objectives. Subject matter expert in all areas of payer relations and is highly-skilled in payer-related communications. Oversees appropriate coordination of companywide initiatives related to payer and provider activities and operational efficiency. Works cross-functionally to develop the market access and reimbursement strategy for new products. Works with the market access and marketing team in the development of tools and collateral on payer messaging for various segments, as well as support in education tools and resources for non-market access teams. Responsible for short- and long-term pricing, contracting, account strategies, and developing strategic roadmaps and plans for all targeted accounts. Responsible for Vendor Management including contract negotiations, business reviews, growth opportunities, and new product launches. Performs other duties and tasks as assigned. Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred. Five years’ executive-level experience managing National Account, Payer negotiations, and/or like activities. Proven ability to work in a matrix environment, collaborate with and influence peers, sales teams and management. Strong results orientation with a keen bias for action. Strong analytical competence and the ability to interpret large data sets. Existing relationships with key decision makers and influencers. Knowledge of fee-for-service and rental reimbursement methodology as applicable to manage care contracting, various market rates and tactics for securing fee for service reimbursement in traditional environments. Travel:

Ability to travel up to 50% and at times may require greater travel. Skills:

Language: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret medical supply publications, technical procedures, and/or training tools. Ability to write internal and external business correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate and present information and respond to questions from management, team members, and/or customers. Math:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply intermediate math skills. Reasoning:

Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to manage and address multiple, complex and interdependent variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Advanced analytical reasoning to include ability to forecast probabilities within workflow processes and reason against outside factors. Computer:

Expertise in common Microsoft Office Applications. Ability to learn new applications and increase competency within applications as needed. Telecommunications:

Ability to utilize or knowledge of call center telecommunications software. Travel and Location
