Marketing & Communications Director, Rockville Economic Development, Inc. (REDI) Rockville Economic Development (REDI), a nonprofit organization, was founded in 1997 by the City of Rockville to serve as the economic development agency for the City. With a budget of $1.5 million, REDI helps businesses launch, locate, and expand in Rockville, MD through a variety of economic development initiatives and programs.In 2010, REDI established the Maryland Women’s Business Center (MWBC) to help entrepreneurs throughout the region start and grow businesses positioned for long-term growth through training, business counseling and other resources. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ·Develop, manage and implement marketing, communication, and event strategies to build each community, reinforce brand identity, promote services, and advance the missions of REDI and MWBC. ·Work with the Marketing & Communications Director to develop, implement and assess marketing strategies, projects and events related to economic development, tourism, small business development and retail. ·Lead content creation and publication across communication channels including websites, social media, newsletters, media releases, advertisements and other PR initiatives. ·Support other REDI and MWBC programs and projects as assigned by the Marketing & Communications Director and Executive team. ·Other duties as assigned. Marketing Develop and implement marketing strategies and campaigns plans to promote brands like REDI (business retention, expansion and attraction, Biotech Corridor, Explore Rockville, Rockville Rewards) and MWBC (counseling, training, events, MWBC Shop Local) initiatives with oversight from the Marketing & Communications Director. Manage integrated campaigns across digital (social, Google Ads, e-newsletters) and public relations channels. Plan and develop content (text and graphics) for communications channels, including websites, social media, newsletters, articles, press releases, and advertisements. Manage and update content on websites and social media. Develop and manage marketing collateral such as flyers, presentations, reports, emails, and promotional items, adhering to brand guidelines. Represent REDI and MWBC at events, tradeshows and meetings, providing marketing support as needed. Collaborate with MWBC staff to prepare, promote and measure trainings, workshops, programs and counseling services. Manage relationships with external vendors, suppliers, and consultants for additional marketing, graphic design and communication needs. Coordinate with partners and stakeholder groups to support REDI and MWBC marketing and communications. Programs and Events ·Plan, develop, and manage a calendar of programs and events with oversight from the Marketing & Communications Director. ·Plan and coordinate logistics of REDI and MWBC programs and events including contracts, staff coordination, run-of-show, setup and breakdown, volunteers, and vendors. ·Serve as the lead onsite for programs/events, managing event staff and ensuring smooth execution. ·Develop and manage individual event budgets in alignment with overall organizational budgets. ·Design programs and events, and improve existing ones to better engage the community and support REDI and MWBC missions. ·Coordinate sponsorship development for events, including collateral, outreach, tracking, and invoicing. ·Produce event-related graphics and promotional materials for print and digital platforms, signage and collateral. ·Track event metrics, prepare post-event reports, and facilitate internal debrief sessions to assess and improve event execution. Administration ·Adhere to REDI policies and procedures. ·Track and report data and metrics related to marketing and event efforts. ·Prepare accurate reports as directed by the Marketing & Communications Director and Executive team. ·Meet or exceed annual performance goals and metrics. ·Supervise and mentor interns, providing guidance and support. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field. 3+ years of work experience in marketing, communications or related field. Experience in a fast-paced work environment; nonprofit, government, or consumer brands a plus. Demonstrated success in creating, implementing and managing marketing and public relations initiatives. Experience in event planning, budgeting, and management. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously. In-depth knowledge of brand management, digital marketing, and content creation. Proficiency in marketing and event tools such as WordPress, Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Business Suite, Eventbrite, and Constant Contact. Proficiency with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Reddit, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, etc.) and scheduling tools. Experience with graphic design, photo/video editing, and publishing software such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools. Strong interpersonal skills and cross-cultural skills to represent REDI and MWBC to clients, residents, Board Members, and stakeholders. Ability to work evenings and weekends as required for events and activities. COMPENSATION AND ENVIRONMENT: ·Salary range: $60,000–$75,000, commensurate with experience. ·Benefits include: paid holidays and annual leave, health insurance, 3% matching contribution to a Simple IRA plan, and parking at office location.
