Civil Design Engineer
to join our Tacoma, WA office. The ideal candidate will bring
5+ years of civil engineering experience , a solid background in
civil site design , and strong proficiency in
Autodesk Civil 3D . A
Professional Engineer (PE)
license is required (or the ability to obtain one within 24 months). Project design experience and expertise in Western Washington stormwater design are strong assets. In this role, you will provide civil engineering expertise from concept through constructionpreparing and reviewing design plans, specifications, cost estimates, and construction documents. You will also collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients while serving as a technical lead on a variety of infrastructure and land development projects. Key Responsibilities Prepare design reports, construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for civil engineering projects. Develop and review civil site plans, grading, drainage, utilities, and roadway designs. Conduct hydraulic and water resource analysis and planning. Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and local/state/federal regulatory agencies. Utilize Autodesk Civil 3D and Bluebeam to produce and manage high-quality design documentation. Attend client meetings, site visits, and construction reviews to ensure project quality and adherence to timelines. Submit project documentation for permitting and regulatory compliance. Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (or equivalent). Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in civil design. Washington State PE license or ability to obtain within 24 months. Proficient in Civil 3D, WWHM, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with stormwater design and Western Washington regulatory standards. Familiarity with local jurisdictions design standards, methods, and specifications. Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Preferred Qualifications 710 years of experience in civil site design. Experience in project management, from design through construction. Background in transportation and roadway design. Familiarity with local permitting processes and jurisdictional requirements.
