Acme Smoked Fish Corp The People Partner plays a critical role in shaping the employee experience and serving as a trusted partner to managers and employees. This role supports the entire employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through engagement, and offboarding – while fostering a positive, productive, and compliant work environment. What You Will Do At Acme: Partner with managers and leaders to identify staffing needs, participate in the recruitment and selection process, and ensure timely hiring of top talent. Design and deliver new hire orientation programs that build engagement and understanding of Acme’s culture and expectations. Conduct exit interviews and offboarding procedures for departing employees. Act as trusted employee advocate and first point of contact, providing guidance, support, and policy interpretation in a fair and consistent manner. Assists in conflict resolution and disputes that may arise, including disciplinary actions. Work with People Team leadership to continuously review and improve HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook to align with legal requirements and best practices. Work with the Payroll and Benefits department to ensure employee understanding of benefits. Ensure consistent implementation of HR policies across departments. Provide guidance to managers and employees on policy interpretation and application. Support the performance management process, including goal setting, feedback delivery, and development planning, to strengthen performance culture. Collaborate with leaders to design and implement employee engagement initiatives and activities to improve morale and monitor impact. Partner with managers to identify training needs for relevant programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge, including coordinating and/or facilitating training programs. Ensure timely submission of timecards for payroll processing. Works with EHS Director to ensure consistency of EHS programs and trainings. Promote and display Acme’s Core Values. Other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: This role will not directly supervise employees, but will influence leaders and teams through partnership, coaching, and relationship building. Your Education & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. 4+ years’ experience in human resources. Manufacturing and/or industrial experience preferred. Bi-lingual in Spanish required. Experience in employee relations, conflict resolution, and performance management. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion. Experience in employee health and safety programs. Your Skills & Abilities: Strong business partnership skills with the ability to build trust, influence decisions, and align People Team initiatives with operational goals. Solid understanding of human resources principles, practices, and employment law. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to develop creative solutions. In-depth knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR best practices. Proficiency in HRIS systems and other HR-related software. Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent software. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and discretion with confidential information. Willingness to complete assigned training programs and adhere to established standards of work. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer or prolonged periods of standing. Work environment – office and production floor. The ability to work in cold (32 to 45F) and wet environment. Exposure to low level of noise on production floor. Exposure to uneven ground and floor angles. Travel once per year Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. Health & Safety Requirements: Observe and follow all safety rules. Wear required PPE. Follow mandated OSHA regulations.
