Under general direction of the Senior Psychiatrist, the Psychiatrist in Mental Health Services is a member of an Interdisciplinary Treatment Team providing general population outpatient services to inmates. The Team includes other psychiatrists, psychologists, and psychiatric social workers assigned to a Service Area. Primary duties include: Perform psychiatric evaluations, participate in treatment planning and case reviews, prescribe medications, provide crisis intervention and psychotherapy. Provide consultations and training in treatment approaches to clinical and custody staff of the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team. Compensation, Benefits, and Pay

This advertisement is for a Staff Psychiatrist, CF (SAFETY) position at NKSP, Delano, CA (Kern County). Salary: HAM rates and pay scales apply. HAM authorized rates: P $30,259.00, Q $31,136.00. Recruitment and Retention Bonus may be available for clinicians newly hired with CCHCS. Pay differential: 15% of monthly base pay for employees providing direct in-person patient care on grounds or at a facility more than 50% of the pay period. Eligible for a $10,000 one-time recruitment and retention stipend if criteria are met, plus up to $5,000 monthly recruitment and retention differential in the first year (if eligible). Potential $5,000 referral bonus if hired and remain employed for 90 days. Leave and Employment Conditions

Effective July 1, 2025, Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) may affect base salary and leave credits for eligible employees; see notice for details. This is a limited term position; extension or permanent placement is possible. Qualifications
