The Department of Surgery/Division of General at Stanford University School of Medicine seeks a fellowship-trained

Colorectal Surgeon

to join our expanding East Bay Cancer Care Program. The position will be based at the

Stanford Medicine - Sutter Health Cancer Center

in Oakland, CA, which is a Joint Venture and will function as a central hub for comprehensive, multidisciplinary cancer care. The newly built Center features state-of-the-art outpatient clinic space, ambulatory surgery center, infusion treatment area, as well as diagnostic radiology and radiation oncology facilities. Inpatient surgical care will be provided at the adjacent Alta Bates Summit Medical Center and at Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley in Pleasanton, CA. Tertiary resources will be available at Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto, CA as needed. The successful candidate will join two existing Stanford Colorectal Surgeons in the East Bay and will be expected to establish a robust, subspecialized clinical program in Colorectal Surgery, supported by a team of inpatient/outpatient Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and 24-hour hospitalist coverage. Emergency room coverage is not mandatory, except for established or postoperative patients. The position will include opportunities to participate in the education of fellows and residents and to participate in Stanford clinical research. An application for an ACGME Colon & Rectal Surgery fellowship at Stanford is currently underway. Strong integration with the main Stanford campus in Palo Alto will be prioritized through hybrid faculty meetings, grand rounds, tumor boards, as well as research and teaching conferences. The position will be at the Clinical Assistant Professor or Clinical Associate Professor level in the Clinician Educator Line (CE) at Stanford University. The major criterion for appointment for Clinician Educators is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administration, and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. Clinical Assistant Professor: $368,000 - $398,000, Clinical Associate Professor: $430,000 - $472,000. This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank.
