Makes physician-to-physician calls to gather medical information necessary to determine medical necessity for requested services. Makes medical necessity determinations for grievances and appeals appropriate for their specialty. Ensures consistent use of medical policies when making medical necessity decisions. Alerts supervisors to any case review decisions that require Medical Director review or policy interpretation. Minimum Requirements
MD or DO with board certification approved by ABMS or AOA, where applicable to duties being performed. Active unrestricted medical license to practice medicine or a health profession. Location and Compensation
Salary range for this position in Illinois is
$188,051 to $282,088
(location and individual factors may affect final offer). Elevance Health offers a comprehensive benefits package and additional compensation programs. The salary range is disclosed in good faith and may be modified in the future. Benefits and compensation are subject to eligibility and company policy. Locations: Illinois.
