Location: DC, Philadelphia, Boston, or New York Zipcar is in search of a

Director, Regional Field Operations

to build and lead a team of logistics and service associates, launch new markets, provide leadership, deliver exceptional subscriber experience, maximize growth, and drive operational performance. This role will oversee all aspects of performance of an assigned region with a focus on standardization and scalability of process, as well as associate safety and quality of execution. The role offers autonomy and visibility within the organization and opportunities to shape the future of car ownership while helping to grow our organizational playbook and define our operations framework.

What you’ll do

Accountable for a regional P&L and Weekly Business Review, subscriber experience as measured by a net promoter score (NPS), and operational efficiency metrics.

Represent your region as a stakeholder for new market launches, determining staffing, vendor support, and fleet counts.

Provide leadership, direction, coaching, succession planning and merit/compensation reviews to market managers and teams across fleet operations, supply chain, maintenance & care.

Manage and improve processes and systems to deliver results consistently (operational excellence: KPI reporting and diagnosis, application of best practices and team development) across the region.

Partner with Marketing to support strategic partnerships in the region, as applicable.

Contribute to advancing operations across all regions in North America and represent regional opportunities and needs to other departments, helping build the future for operator tools and systems.

What drives success for this role

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in related field required

5–10 years directly managing a P&L with general management responsibilities

Prior experience in operations for a complex organization providing a 24/7 service

Experience tracking the success of operational improvement programs with a focus on sustainable, organization-wide improvements

Adaptability to changes in the work environment and ability to manage competing demands

Self-direction, prioritization and efficient time management

Ability to identify staffing needs and hire key employees who contribute to organizational success

Problem-solving skills, information gathering, analysis, and ability to maintain confidentiality

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying information clearly at all levels

Salary: The annual starting salary range for this position is $130,000-$140,000. Factors that may affect starting pay within this range include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
