Opportunity details: The Director will have 80% clinical and 20% administrative responsibilities, with on-call coverage required. The Director will provide strategic and clinical leadership for a comprehensive Acute Care Surgery program, oversee Emergency General Surgery development, deliver direct patient care in emergency general surgery, mentor residents and medical students (in collaboration with Rutgers University School of Medicine), and support ongoing research in Acute Care Surgery. The role supports programmatic goals in collaboration with hospital and system leadership. Qualifications: Board-certified/eligible by the American Board of Surgery with added qualifications in Surgical Critical Care; Fellowship trained in Surgical Critical Care; at least 7 years of relevant clinical and leadership experience; demonstrated commitment to teaching, research, and scholarly activity; prior experience in program development preferred; academic rank with Rutgers University commensurate with experience.
