The Department of Environmental and Occupational Health (EOH) and Center for Occupational and Environmental Health (COEH) in the Joe C. Wen School of Population and Public Health seek an occupational medicine physician to join as contract staff physician. The position may include involvement in training residents in the UCI OEM Residency Program. This appointment may also carry a Voluntary HS Clinical Faculty Appointment. Role on the Team The successful candidate will provide clinical care services at the COEH Irvine Occupational and Environmental Medicine Clinic and, if interested, participate in training residents in the UCI OEM Residency Program. The OEM Residency Program is a core program of the NIOSH-funded Southern California Education and Research Center. The program offers occupational and environmental medicine specialty services with a broad referral base. The role balances clinical practice in occupational and environmental medicine. Experience and Qualifications Board Certified – Occupational Medicine Valid California Medical License (MD/DO) Board certified in occupational medicine and eligible for licensure in the State of California At least three years of prior OEM clinic experience Eligible to hold a UC Irvine Physician and Surgeon Medical Group membership Eligible for UCI Medical Staff privileges What It Takes to be Successful Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload Ability to delegate and empower staff and build strong employee morale Knowledge of standard hospital policies, procedures and forms Conceptual understanding of electronic medical records (Epic) Special Conditions May require travel to conduct surveillance exams at contracted locations May require varying hours and schedule to accommodate clinic workload Position Details Role type: 20-60% time, hourly on an as-needed basis Back-up coverage for times when the primary physician is unavailable Conditions of Employment Background Check and Live Scan Employment Misconduct disclosures as applicable Legal right to work in the United States Vaccination policies and related requirements Total Compensation and Benefits In addition to the salary range, UC Irvine offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical insurance, sick and vacation time, retirement plans, and access to discounts and perks.
