The Xiao Laboratory is a part of the Stanford Biochemistry and Stanford Cancer Institute (SCI). We are a chemical systems biology group focused on developing creative mass spectrometry (MS)-based strategies, combined with data science, to understand mechanisms of metabolic regulation over protein function in health and disease.
We are seeking a Life Science Research Professional 1 to perform experiments and data analysis, to contribute to publications, and to support activities in a newly-established group at Stanford. The successful candidate will perform molecular biology experiments involving genetic and pharmacological interventions in cells, as well as functional assays.
Duties include:
Plan and perform experiments in support of research projects in lab and/or field based on knowledge of scientific theory. Interpret and perform basic analyses of results.
Review literature on an ongoing basis to remain current with new procedures and related research.
Offer suggestions regarding modifications to procedures and protocols in collaboration with graduate and post-doctoral individuals.
Maintain detailed records of experiments and outcomes.
Contribute to publication of findings as needed. Participate in the preparation of written documents, including procedures, presentations, and proposals.
