Senior Mechanical Engineer - Energy Solutions - CMTA CMTA, a Legence Company, is looking for an experienced Engineer to help expand our Maryland market in the Energy Solutions division. The Senior Engineer leads all aspects of performance contracts for our clients, from conception to completion, and serves as the primary point of contact throughout all phases. This role involves technical leadership, business development, client relationship management, and contributing to CMTA’s growth. The position is for the performance contracting division, with a background in HVAC design and commissioning considered valuable for integration into the Energy Solutions group.

Responsibilities

Introduce and explain performance contracting to potential clients, identifying opportunities where CMTA’s solutions provide long-term value.

Articulate CMTA’s unique approach to performance contracting in both technical and financial terms.

Build and maintain strong client relationships to foster repeat business, referrals, and long-term partnerships.

Participate in business development activities including client meetings, industry events, and proposal development.

Lead the development phase including site visits, audits, and energy calculations.

Direct the engineering design team in producing drawings and specifications.

Direct the bidding process to ensure quality and competitive outcomes.

Collaborate with the client to finalize the performance contract and work with the construction manager to ensure a smooth construction period.

Direct the commissioning process to validate performance and support the client through the warranty phase as needed.

Work with our Measurement & Verification (M&V) professional to develop the first-year M&V report.

Demonstrate knowledge of Maryland K-12 design-build procurement processes and ensure alignment with state and district requirements.

Required Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience with an Energy Services company or a consulting engineering/commissioning firm.

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
