At SusieCakes, we make old-fashioned, sentimental dessert favorites – like you may remember from childhood. Our bakeries are filled with the delicious tastes and sweet smells of cakes, cupcakes, cookies, pies, and bars, all baked from scratch, on-site daily, using the freshest and finest ingredients. Our signature Celebration Cake is a birthday staple on tens of thousands of tables. Our bakeries mix the nostalgia of the past with the warmth and feel of a modern, neighborhood bakery. “Connecting through Celebration” is our purpose and what we strive for every day with our team members, our guests and our community. Our production leadership guides the culinary operation by baking and building delicious cakes and other baked goods in-house. They ensure the highest quality baked goods are produced in a timely manner through training, supporting overall safety, and developing the culinary team in production management. Responsibilities
Lead the culinary team in production by motivating, training, and developing team members in the production category through adherence to recipes and standard operating procedures for cakes, cookies, pies, bars, puddings, buttercreams, and related items. Lead the team in production of custom baked goods. Develop and train skills in mixing, baking, and building. Assign daily production tasks to team members and ensure completion. Ensure all food is prepared, handled, and stored according to required food safety standards. Qualifications
Associate degree in Culinary, Baking or Pastry Arts preferred 2 years of leadership experience in a team environment Ability to work in multiple regional locations Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule according to business needs Must have reliable transportation and valid driver’s license Physical requirements
Frequent walking, kneeling, bending, and reaching overhead Able to stand for extended periods Must be able to lift, move and carry up to 75 pounds Must be able to taste product for quality assurance (e.g., buttercreams, cakes, cupcakes, batter, cookie dough) as assigned Certifications
