Position Volunteer Filmmaker/Video Editor
On-site Filming Required
The Prevention of Blindness Society of Metropolitan Washington (POB) is seeking a talented and dedicated volunteer Filmmaker/Video Editor to create three short videos (3-4 minutes each) for our core program areas: children, adults, and people with vision impairment. These videos will play a vital role in welcoming new volunteers and donors, helping them understand our mission, values, and procedures so they feel prepared to contribute meaningfully.
Responsibilities
Capture on-site footage and edit it into three polished, engaging videos.
Incorporate branding elements, music, and voiceovers (if applicable).
Add text overlays, graphics, and simple animations to enhance clarity.
Ensure accessibility and alignment with POB’s communication guidelines.
Collaborate with staff to review drafts and refine based on feedback.
Deliver final videos in formats suitable for online platforms.
Qualifications
Proven video editing experience with a strong portfolio (students welcome to apply).
Proficiency with video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or similar).
Strong grasp of pacing, storytelling, and visual aesthetics.
Ability to work independently, manage time, and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Passion for community service and alignment with POB’s mission.
