Summary The Director of Annual Giving and Alumni Relations leads and directs the college’s annual giving and alumni relations programming, builds a culture of philanthropy, and increases participation among alumni, parents, faculty/staff and friends. The role involves strategic planning and execution of events and initiatives, coordinating with academic departments, and managing budgets. It includes active portfolio management, cultivating and soliciting leadership-level annual gifts, focusing on high-value donors and multi-year commitments. It also collaborates with the central development office to coordinate messaging and strategy for college-wide campaigns. The position works with development and alumni relations staff to design multi-channel fundraising solicitations (direct mail, digital campaigns, phonathons, scholarships via the Franklin Advantage fund, and giving society solicitations such as Cornerstone and Franklin for Life). The candidate should be data-driven, creative, and committed to higher education fundraising. This is a full-time role with regular travel and duties that may occur on nights/weekends, including homecoming and football events.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And/or Competencies

Exceptional written and verbal communication

Understanding of fundraising strategies, donor cultivation and stewardship

Knowledge of fundraising marketing techniques to engage donors

Proficiency with donor management software and databases

Ability to build and maintain relationships with donors and colleagues

Strong organizational skills to manage multiple campaigns

Ability to analyze donor data and fundraising metrics

Ability to deploy innovative approaches to campaigns

Precision in managing donor information and communications

Flexibility to adjust strategies based on donor feedback

Self-motivation to work independently and collaboratively

Proficiency with Microsoft Office
