We are looking for a dynamic, detail-oriented manager to oversee the pipelines that power our sports app experience. This role is responsible for ensuring that the right mix of articles, highlights, and social updates reach fans in real time—through automated feeds, video ingestion, and personalization algorithms. You’ll serve as the connective tissue between programming, product and engineering, external content sources, and our data science/AI partners to create the most engaging and habit-forming sports feeds in the industry. Role Accountabilities
Own the ingestion, QA, and maintenance of RSS feeds, APIs, and external sources to ensure relevant, accurate, and timely sports news flows into the app Partner with video ingestion providers to manage highlight and clip pipelines, ensuring high-quality, rights-approved video content lands in the right streams Ensure ingestion of scores and stats working properly across leagues and teams Select, evaluate, and integrate new external content sources (sites, tweets, league feeds, blogs) to broaden fan engagement Partner with Product to send Bleacher Report content to external partners like Apple News Collaborate with data science/AI teams to design and refine recommendation models and ranking algorithms Define business rules to balance algorithmic personalization with editorial priorities (e.g., local team relevance, breaking news, playoff storylines) Monitor algorithm output and ensure the right content mix is reaching the right fans at the right time Manage and optimize automated push alerts based on personalized rules Personalization & Automation
Collaborate with data science/AI teams to design and refine recommendation models and ranking algorithms Define business rules to balance algorithmic personalization with editorial priorities Monitor algorithm output and ensure the right content mix is reaching the right fans at the right time Manage and optimize automated push alerts based on personalized rules Programming & Curation
Partner with programming and sports leads to shape the narrative of feeds—making sure the app feels fresh, timely, and tuned to what fans care about most Ensure feeds are updating in an automated fashion in real-time during live events to highlight trending plays, breaking stories, and social content Create workflows for combining automated feeds + human judgment for optimal fan experience Analytics & Optimization
Collaborate with Analytics to track performance metrics (time spent, CTR, return visits, video views) and optimize feed logic accordingly Run experiments (A/B tests, feature prioritization, algorithm adjustments) to continuously optimize feed engagement Partner with product managers to evaluate and integrate new automation tools or personalization features Qualifications
5+ years of experience in sports media, programming, or content operations Hands-on familiarity with RSS feeds, APIs, CMS tools, and content ingestion systems Strong analytical skills and experience working with data-driven personalization (bonus: SQL, Looker, Tableau) Understanding of recommendation systems, personalization algorithms, or ML models (collaborative role, not building models directly) Comfortable working at the intersection of programming, product, data science, and engineering Passionate about sports and how fans consume content across formats How We Get Things Done
