Job Description A Brief Overview We are looking for a highly capable Senior Workers' Compensation Claims Adjuster to join our Claims team and work from any US Argo office. We work together in the office five days a week to strengthen our culture, build team connections, and drive profitability. The position reports to a manager based in North Carolina. This role will adjudicate workers’ compensation claims in the jurisdictions of LA, MA, and OK and contribute to providing superb results for our clients. Responsibilities
Adjudicate highly complex indemnity workers’ compensation claims with significant impact on departmental results, under limited technical direction and within broad limits of authority. Investigate claims promptly and thoroughly, including interviewing involved parties. Analyze claims forms, policies, endorsements, client instructions, and other records to determine coverage and loss responsibility. Manage claims in litigation and ensure timely resolution through proper diary management and task completion. Set claim reserves appropriately and coordinate resources to assist in case resolution. Prepare file documentation and reports; present claims trends to senior management and underwriters. Negotiate settlements, apply creative solutions for the best financial outcome, and process mail and communications with insureds and claimants. Maintain a strong focus on claim management quality and customer service. Core qualifications and requirements
Strong business acumen and understanding of how an insurance company works and profits. Minimum five years of workers’ compensation claims experience adjudicating in the jurisdictions of LA, MA, and/or OK. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university; two or more insurance designations or four additional years of related experience may substitute for the degree. Must be licensed in LA or able to obtain a license quickly to adjudicate first-party claims. Excellent communication skills and ability to build lasting relationships. Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment; comfortable with solving problems that require a broader understanding of issues. Strong negotiation skills, customer focus, and ability to articulate financial value to stakeholders at various levels, including executives. Proficiency in MS Office and business-related software; strong written and verbal communication; fluent in reading and writing English. The base salary range is provided for geographic areas and will be commensurate with experience. In addition to base salary, employees are eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance, plus a generous benefits package. Chicago and Los Angeles metro area Pay Range:
$109,200 - $129,900 New York City Pay Range:
