POSITION OVERVIEW:
Our client is entering its next chapter, preparing for a public market listing, and seeking a Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to oversee its financial planning, forecasting, investor communications, and strategic analysis functions. This is a high-impact leadership role that will shape the financial narrative of a rapidly scaling fintech.
Our client has a unique model and is well-placed to provide infrastructure to traditional financial firms as it embraces blockchain. The Director will build and scale a best-in-class FP&A function, focusing on impact, automation, and efficiency. You will own company-wide budgeting, forecasting, and long-range strategic planning.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead company-wide budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning
Develop financial models and planning processes that drive decision-making
Support monthly close with variance analysis and KPI tracking
Drive scenario planning to prepare for multiple growth paths
Lead, grow, and mentor a high-performing FP&A team
Cross-Functional Partnership
Deliver financial and operational analytics to support strategic initiatives
Partner with leadership to align reporting with business operations
Present quarterly business reviews and provide data-driven insights
Serve as a trusted thought
partner to the executive team
Process & Systems
Oversee financial planning tools, ensuring
automation and scalability
Improve efficiency and streamline reporting for speed, accuracy, and transparency
Build dashboards and reporting systems that enable real-time decision-making
Strategic Growth Enablement
Lead financial initiatives that unlock growth and profitability
Track market dynamics, crypto adoption, and regulatory shifts impacting planning
Monitor and report key operational and financial metrics
QUALIFICATIONS:
Proven success scaling FP&A teams in public company settings, IPO participation a must
Background in financial services
(investment banking preferred)
Executive-level communication and presentation abilities;
able to craft compelling financial narratives
Trusted, transparent, and ethical
approach to financial leadership
8+ years FP&A or corporate finance experience, with leadership in high-growth or regulated environments
Strong proficiency with EPM Software (Pigment, Adaptive, SAC) and advanced financial modeling skills
Mission-driven, data-driven, and action-oriented with an owner\'s mentatility
Experienced in building and developing high-performing teams
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business (MBA preferred)
LOCATION:
New York City (Mid-Town) Hybrid 3 days per week in the office
COMPENSATION:
Salary, bonus, and stock options are commensurate with a pre-IPO FinTech company.
