Overview

This role is field-based, and candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience.

This geography covers:

Pasadena, Burbank, Arcadia, Glendora, Rowland Heights, Yorba Linda, and the surrounding areas. We will be hiring two candidates for this territory. Execute brand strategy and tactics in field, drive sales performance, effectively manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts, build strong customer relationships and customer needs solving capability to maximize short and long term sales performance placing the patient into the center of any efforts and operating within AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies and all applicable laws and regulations. Responsibilities

Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, marketing objectives, etc. to meet or exceed objectives. Create pre-call plan using SMART objectives and execute post-call evaluation to improve sales performance. Handle objections, misunderstandings, concerns and secure calls to action to close on sales opportunities. Aspire to serve customer needs and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers. Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities. Continuously build understanding of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, market segments and dynamics, accounts, disease, product, clinical and sales aspects; share market intelligence with in-field team, brand team and sales manager to align and adapt brand strategy. Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and identify and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience required. Five (5) years of relevant industry experience required if no bachelor’s degree, with three (3) or more years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required. Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge and is recognized as an expert resource by relevant stakeholders. Strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools; operates effectively in a matrix environment. Offers innovative ideas to maximize business opportunities. Proven track record of success in selling and strong presentation skills. Able to adapt selling approach to customer style/behavior and contribute ideas for the larger organization. Influences others and is viewed as credible and respectful; builds collaborative partnerships with district colleagues and matrix teams; leads by example and demonstrates positive behaviors under changing conditions. Documented success in leadership and increased responsibility at district, regional or organizational levels; uses findings to develop sales strategies. Preferred: Proven sales performance in respective therapeutic areas; experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care or marketing; English proficiency (verbal and written) for non-English speaking markets. Must satisfy all applicable HCIR credentialing requirements to gain entry into facilities and organizations in the assigned territory; must be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain these credentials. HCIR credentialing may include background checks, drug screens, immunizations, fingerprinting, and licenses required by state or city. You are responsible for satisfying all credentialing requirements; AbbVie provides resources to assist. Key Stakeholders

External: Specialty Physicians in therapeutic brand area, pharmacists, nurses, and others depending on brand plan. Internal: In-field team members, Sales Management (i.e. DSM), Marketing Management, Training, Customer Excellence, & Brand Plan stakeholders. Additional Information

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation for this role at the time of posting, based on the job grade. Individual compensation depends on factors including geographic location and may be modified. This range may be updated in the future. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees. This job is eligible to participate in short-term and long-term incentive programs. Note: No amount of pay is considered wages or compensation until earned, vested and determinable.
