The Communications & Marketing Manager leads Imagine!’s communications and marketing functions as both strategist and practitioner. This role ensures that organizational communications are proactive, consistent, and aligned with Imagine!’s mission and strategic goals. The position provides direct support and counsel to the CEO and Executive Team, while also producing high-quality communications that build staff trust, strengthen Imagine!’s brand, and enhance visibility with community partners, donors, and stakeholders.
As steward of Imagine!’s brand identity, the role maintains consistent internal and external messaging and prioritizes emphasis where it is most needed to advance the agency’s reputation, culture, and impact. In addition, this position plays a key role in marketing and business development efforts, partnering closely with program leaders to develop strategies, campaigns, and materials that grow Imagine!’s reach and enhance long-term financial sustainability.
Communications Leadership
Serve as Imagine!’s communications lead, advising the CEO and Executive Team on strategy, messaging, and positioning. Develop and maintain a proactive communications strategy that supports transparency, staff engagement, and organizational reputation. Steward Imagine!’s brand identity across all channels, ensuring clarity and consistency in both internal and external messaging. Draft, edit, and distribute communications across multiple platforms, including newsletters, intranet, executive emails, board updates, social media, and donor/funder messaging. Lead crisis communication planning, ensuring preparedness and rapid-response capacity. Marketing & Business Development
Collaborate with program leaders to develop and execute marketing strategies that support program growth, with a special focus on residential services. Design and coordinate marketing campaigns, materials, and outreach to build awareness and increase enrollment. Partner with development/fundraising staff to strengthen donor-facing messaging and expand community visibility. Identify and pursue opportunities to grow Imagine!’s market share in alignment with strategic goals. Brand & Media Management
Establish and enforce brand standards (visual and narrative) to ensure consistent application across all outputs. Manage media relations, including press releases, external visibility campaigns, and community awareness initiatives. Coordinate with contractors (design, web, social media) to deliver specialized or high-volume communications needs. Monitor communications and marketing effectiveness using metrics, feedback loops, and staff input; recommend improvements. Represent Imagine! in meetings, events, and partnerships as needed. Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and community leaders to advance Imagine!’s reputation and growth. Job Qualifications
Knowledge, Skill, and Ability: Demonstrated ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution (strategy + doer). Proven experience developing and maintaining brand identity, with emphasis on both internal culture and external reputation. Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills across multiple formats. Demonstrated success in marketing and/or business development, including program growth campaigns or enrollment initiatives. Experience with media relations, public visibility campaigns, and community outreach. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and collaborate across teams. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing organizational needs. Expert skills in marketing, public relations, and on-line publication production. Skill and ability in website development and maintenance. Expert skill and ability in public speaking and presentations. Willingness to align internal communications with broader organizational goals and adapt strategies based on feedback and metrics. Ability to work effectively with various technologies including word processing software, internet-based databases, etc. Possession of a valid driver’s license and ability to meet Imagine! driving requirements. Training/Education: Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, business, or related field required. Master’s degree highly preferred. Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred. Experience: 5–7 years of progressively responsible experience in communications, marketing, or public relations. At least 2 years advising executives or senior leadership. Experience in a nonprofit, human services, or mission-driven environment. Experience with communications and marketing metrics (analytics, surveys, dashboards). Familiarity with accessibility standards (e.g., ADA/Section 508) for digital communications and intranet content. Supervisory or mentorship experience (staff, interns, or volunteers). Working Environment/Physical Activities Effective with shifting roles, responsibilities, and expectations in a changing environment. Extended periods of time working at a computer. Office environment with frequent standing, sitting, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting marketing related items. Ability to lift 20 pounds regularly and occasionally more than 20 pounds assisted. This position requires regular travel throughout the Front Range area.
