Job Description Salary: May River Montessoriis an educational institution committed to inspiring a love of learning, compassion, and acceptance within an authentic Montessori community. May River Montessori is a non-profit, tax exempt, 501 C-3 corporation.

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Montessori Toddler Lead Teacher to join our educational team for the 2025-2026 school year. The primary lead teacher will create a nurturing and stimulating environment where children aged 24 to 36 months can develop their cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills following the Montessori philosophy and methodology.

Responsibilities:

Classroom Management:

Establish and maintain a well-organized, child-centered classroom environment that promotes independence, exploration, and learning. Set up and maintain Montessori materials and activities in accordance with the principles of the Montessori method. Foster a culture of respect, kindness, and cooperation among students.

Curriculum Development and Implementation:

Design and implement a developmentally appropriate Montessori curriculum that meets each childs individual needs and interests. Plan and facilitate lessons and activities across various Montessori areas, including practical life, sensorial, language, mathematics, and cultural subjects. Incorporate hands-on, experiential learning opportunities into the curriculum to promote active engagement and exploration. Adhere to the alignment of the Montessori curriculum map, scope

Observation and Assessment:

Conduct ongoing observation and assessment of each childs progress and development. Maintain accurate records of student assessments, observations, and anecdotal notes. Use assessment data to inform instructional planning and individualized support for students.

Parent Communication and Collaboration:

Establish and maintain open, positive communication with parents and caregivers through regular meetings, conferences, and written updates. Collaborate with parents to support each childs educational journey and address any concerns or questions they may have. Conduct two (2) Parent Teacher Conferences per school year.

Professional Development:

Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to deepen understanding of Montessori philosophy, methodology, and best practices. Stay informed about current trends and research in early childhood education and incorporate new knowledge into teaching practice.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Montessori teaching credential (AMI or AMS) for the appropriate age group (Primary). Previous experience working as a Montessori Toddler Teacher preferred. Strong understanding of child development principles and the Montessori philosophy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Patience, flexibility, and a genuine love for working with young children.

Job Type:Full-time

Schedule: Full-time 8am-3pm Monday to Friday

Work Location: In person. Work primarily occurs in a classroom setting, with occasional outdoor activities and field trips.

Physical Requirements and Other Requirements: The primary teacher may be required to stand, walk, bend, and lift objects up to a certain weight. The position may involve working with children with diverse learning needs and abilities.
