THE ROLE The Pure Storage Product Marketing team is a dynamic and innovative group responsible for defining our market narrative, crafting compelling product messaging, and enabling our sales force to articulate the unique value of Pure’s solutions. We are storytellers, strategists, and evangelists, translating complex technology into impactful customer benefits. We work closely with product management, sales, and corporate marketing to drive product adoption and market leadership. Pure Storage is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sr. Product Marketing Manager to focus on the Public Sector market. In this role, you will shape how we engage with and serve government agencies — including state and local, educational institutions, and public safety organizations. You will develop and execute go-to-market strategies, craft messaging that resonates with public sector audiences, and enable our sales teams to address the unique challenges and opportunities within this segment. This role combines a passion for innovative technology with a deep understanding of public sector needs, contributing to our mission of helping customers build a better world with data. WHAT YOU'LL DO Market Leadership & Strategy:
Define and articulate the Pure Storage value proposition for the Public Sector. Conduct in-depth market research to identify key trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape for government, education, and public safety. Develop go-to-market strategies, including target audience segmentation, messaging, and sales enablement plans tailored for the Public Sector. Compelling Content Creation:
Craft engaging content, including solution briefs, whitepapers, presentations, website copy, sales playbooks, and case studies, showing how Pure Storage addresses the challenges and mandates of Public Sector organizations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop Public Sector–specific demos and solution architectures. Sales Enablement & Empowerment:
Equip Public Sector sales teams with knowledge, tools, and resources to confidently position Pure Storage solutions. Deliver training, develop sales collateral, and act as a subject matter expert for Public Sector opportunities. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with the Public Sector team to capture business priorities based on sector requirements and feedback. Work with Growth Marketing to execute campaigns, events, and thought leadership targeting the Public Sector. Collaborate with Public Sector sales leadership to identify and pursue key opportunities. Thought Leadership & Advocacy:
Represent Pure Storage at industry events, conferences, and customer engagements focused on the Public Sector. Evangelize Pure’s solutions, share customer success stories, and contribute to Pure’s reputation as a trusted partner in the Public Sector. Competitive Intelligence:
Monitor and analyze competitive activities within the Public Sector and develop strategies to differentiate Pure Storage and maintain market leadership. WHAT YOU BRING 7+ years of product marketing experience, with a focus on enterprise software or hardware solutions; storage experience is a plus. Proven experience in the Public Sector market (Federal, State & Local, Education), understanding procurement processes, regulatory environments, and solution requirements. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create compelling messaging for diverse audiences. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate market insights into actionable strategies and narratives. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities. Collaborative spirit and proven ability to work cross-functionally with sales, product management, and corporate marketing teams. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred. #LI-REMOTE Salary ranges are determined based on role, level and location. For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range is reflective of the labor market across the applicable locations. This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity. There is no application deadline and we accept applications on an ongoing basis until the job is filled.
