Overview

Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) provides post-award grants administration, accounting, and purchasing support. This position is hybrid - 2 days onsite, 3 days remote per week. The SFA carries out fiscal and grant management functions, budget administration, financial management, and reporting to the Finance Manager. The SFA interprets complex federal, private, and university policies, guidelines, and procedures, and manages portfolios including federal, state, and private funding sources. The SFA also acts as liaison with Research Management Services to ensure proposals are created and submitted appropriately. In addition, the SFA approves lab orders in BearBuy and serves as MyExpense approver for reimbursements for assigned labs. The final salary and offer components are subject to UC policy approvals. Placement within the salary range depends on work experience and internal equity. For positions represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range is guided by the collective bargaining agreement. Salary range: $84,400 - $126,700 (Annual). The Anatomy Department is a basic science department within the School of Medicine that performs scientific research, training, and teaching. The department includes 15 faculty members with primary full-time appointments, 15 with joint appointments, and about 150 postdoctoral fellows and students. Research covers cell biology, developmental biology, and the neurosciences with campuses at Parnassus Heights and Mission Bay. The administrative office is at Parnassus Heights. The department emphasizes a diverse, welcoming, and supportive community. The Department of Microbiology and Immunology and the G.W. Hooper Research Foundation are also described, along with the Parker Institute’s collaboration goals. Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training Minimum 3-5 years of relevant work experience Thorough understanding of research administration guidelines of Federal and non-Federal sponsors in a university environment Maintains current knowledge of compliance regulations in research administration Ability to manage a significant volume of transactions Ability to perform complex financial analysis and customized reporting Excellent attendance and reliability Knowledge of GAAP, fiscal and reporting principles Competence in spreadsheet and database software for financial analysis and reports Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of compliance requirements related to human/animal subjects, financial conflict of interest, biosafety, etc. Familiarity with UCSF personnel and stipend policies Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in research administration or higher education About UCSF
