Senior VDC/BIM Specialist

General Purpose of the Position: The Senior VDC/BIM Specialist is essential in ensuring that digital construction models are precise, well-coordinated, and meet project requirements throughout all phases, from preconstruction to construction. Reporting directly to the Director of Virtual Design and Construction, this role is a key part of the VDC Department. Responsibilities
BIM Model Development & Coordination – Develop detailed Revit models from conceptual design through construction-level detailing and coordinate BIM models with Architects, Engineers, and Trade Contractors.
Tooling & Collaboration – Manage the development and distribution of design models through platforms like BIM 360, ACC, and Revizto; facilitate BIM coordination meetings and huddles, documenting minutes, agendas, and action plans.
Model Quality & Reviews – Perform clash detection and constructability reviews; conduct comprehensive BIM reviews for completeness and compliance with standards; provide feedback in Revizto, ACC, Procore and other PM tools.
BIM Deliverables – Develop and refine 3D models for quantity surveying, sequencing, and scheduling (4D); generate and distribute field construction documents; coordinate post-construction federated models and handover deliverables.
Administration & Documentation – Administer access to BIM tools, ensure version control, review design changes and revision logs, and manage storage with proper naming conventions.
Reality Capture – Integrate laser scanning data, drone footage, and 360° site captures; perform gap analysis and align scans with project models.
Training – Assist in training internal team members on BIM/VDC tools and workflows; act as a technical resource to improve efficiency and collaboration.
Required Job Skills
Strong expertise in Revit, Navisworks, and other BIM/VDC platforms like Revizto and BIM 360.
Proven ability to lead coordination efforts, resolve constructability issues, and support self-performed construction workflows.
Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills; ability to manage multiple tasks.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engaging with clients, designers, and trade partners.
Proficiency in processing and analyzing laser scans, drone footage, and 3D data for project insights.
Demonstrated ability to innovate and advance VDC/BIM best practices; passion for continuous learning and technical excellence.
Education and Experience Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture, engineering, or construction engineering and management. Alternatively, a minimum of 5 years in related VDC/BIM experience.
