The Department of Emergency Medicine at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) is seeking an Advanced Emergency Medicine Ultrasound (AEMUS) Fellowship Trained BC/BE Emergency Medicine Physician to join our Ultrasound Division and team of dedicated Emergency Physicians. In this role, you would provide clinical care at one of Dartmouth Health system community hospitals as well as at DHMC, the academic hub for Dartmouth Health and a Level I Trauma Center. Both are located in scenic, rural New Hampshire with close ties to the Dartmouth College community.

Ideal applicants will have graduated from an EUFAC accredited AEMUS Fellowship and passed or be eligible to take the AEMUS FPD exam. Additionally, competitive candidates will have established themselves as successful academic physicians demonstrated by program development, teaching excellence, and/or research funding. All applications will be considered. Responsibilities include US education and supervision of AEMUS fellows, house-staff, medical students, off-service residents, and Emergency Medicine residents. US leadership opportunities exist for applicants with the right experience. The position offers a faculty appointment at the Geisel School of Medicine at a rank commensurate with experience.

Dartmouth Health is a system of academic tertiary care and community hospitals, clinics, and healthcare services caring for patients across northern New England. It provides the only Level I trauma center in NH, as well as the Dartmouth Cancer Center and Dartmouth Health Children’s.

As the home to The Dartmouth Institute and Geisel School of Medicine, there are ample opportunities for academic collaboration and advancement for motivated physicians.

Lebanon and Hanover, home to Dartmouth College, are located in the “Upper Valley,” which straddles the Connecticut River and includes 46 towns in western New Hampshire and eastern Vermont. The region offers excellent schools, cultural opportunities through Dartmouth College, the Lebanon Opera House, and Northern Stage, as well as recreational activities. Urban amenities from Boston, Burlington, and Montreal are within a few hours’ drive.

Minimum Requirements:

Advanced clinical degree (MD or DO)

Postgraduate training in residency program

New Hampshire Medical License

Current or eligible for ABMS Board Certification (to be obtained within 5 years)
