The Receptionist/Administrative Assistant provides administrative and logistical support to the Government and Community Relations division at our transit client. This role involves coordinating outreach efforts, managing schedules, supporting special events, and assisting with communications and reporting. The assistant works closely with division leadership, including the Chief External & Governmental Relations Officer, and serves as a liaison to elected officials and community leaders. The position requires independence, adaptability, and strong organizational skills in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.

Required Skills & Experience - High school diploma - 2+ years of being a receptionist and/or administrative assistant - Experience supporting mid to upper-level managers Proficiency in: - Typing, filing, reception, phone handling - Scheduling, inventory, and recordkeeping - Ability to work independently with limited supervision - Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills - Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities - Good planning and strategic operations skills - Ability to maintain good work attendance - Flexibility to manage multiple and competing priorities - Ability to interact effectively across diverse business, socio-economic, and cultural environments - Willingness to learn VIA services and systems

Nice to Have Skills & Experience - Experience interacting with elected officials and civic/community leaders Familiarity with public transportation advocacy - Experience coordinating special events and outreach programs - Skills in budget tracking and expense monitoring - Ability to produce reports and presentations - Experience managing mascot or brand ambassador programs
