Job Title: Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
Location: Marysville OH 43040
Pay rate: $65/hr.- $75/hr. or more
Duration: 4 months to Long term
Shift: 08:00am-04:00pm (M-F)
Hours/week: 40 Hours/week
Summary:
Searching for a family or adult-gerontology nurse practitioner licensed to work in Ohio with at least one year of working NP experience in a primary care setting or hospital medicine to provide on-site primary care services on a full-time basis to the female population at this correctional facility. Schedule is weekdays only (no evenings, weekends, or holidays). Preferred shift is 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Assignment is projected to last approximately 4 months but may be extended based on continued need and mutual good fit.
Job Description:
• Monitors progress of and intervenes in the course of chronic illnesses, using ODRC policies and protocols for guidance
• Inoculates or vaccinates against communicable diseases & prescribes medications or administers treatment of acute and chronically ill patients & performs minor surgery as training & competency allows
• Performs routine physical exams of patients to determine control or status of chronic conditions & diagnoses new conditions
• Evaluates patients for the necessity of specialty referral consultations inside or outside the institution & reviews said consult reports for the recommendations, approving or disapproving accordingly
• Orders & reviews the results of laboratory, x-ray, & other diagnostic testing as appropriate
• With the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), facilitates the completion of medical reclassification & requests for non-formulary medications as necessary
• Performs routine & emergency medical care of patients as scheduled
• Examines, diagnoses & treats patients within scope of practice, as identified by the State of Ohio Nursing Board, as applicable
• Conducts rounds on infirmary patients as deemed appropriate by the CMO
• Writes up medical information gathered during patient interviews according to ODRC Office of Correctional Healthcare guidelines, policies, protocols & related American Correctional Association standards currently in practice, documenting all assessments & diagnostic impressions, as well as any other treatment plans & follow-up parameters
• Cooperates with CMO medical quality oversight & accept suggestions, redirection, and guidance
Required:
• BLS/ CPR certification
• Drug Enforcement Administration certification.
• Ohio Medical License
• ANCC Certificate
