Description
Full-Time/Days. Provides advanced secretarial services to support the day-to-day operation of the nursing office of Wayne Memorial Hospital. Primary duties are to provide secretarial support to the Director of Patient Care Services, Patient Safety Officer and other Management Staff.
Minimum Requirements
Requires the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; excellent grammar and writing skills necessary; shorthand or speedwriting skills necessary.
High school diploma required; Associate degree in business, or technical school for business/secretarial skills development
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Must be detail oriented.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality of data used in daily work as it relates to performance issues, quality assurance and other sensitive data sources.
Must be able to multi-task and change duties and assignments based on changing priorities.
Requires ability to shift simultaneously between several duties and maintain continuity.
Two (2) years of recent, related secretarial/clerical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer knowledge required with experience and expertise with software, including, but not limited to MS Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.
Must maintain professional conduct, appearance and communications at all times to both internal and external customers.
Medical terminology knowledge necessary.

Constantly: (Exists 75% or more of the time) Sitting with back support; operating machinery; repetitive desk work
Frequently: (Exists 25-75% of the time) Reaching (overhead, forward, lateral).
Occasionally: (Exists 5- 25% of the time) Standing; walking; reaching (low); climbing; twisting; balance; lifting and carrying 0-5 lbs.; pushing and pulling 0-40 lbs.; exposure to radiation, slippery surfaces.
Rarely: (Exists under 5% of the time) Stooping (bend at waist); crouching (bend at knees); lifting and carrying 5-40 lbs.; exposure to vibration, moving machinery.
Sensory Requirements Visual: close paperwork, VDT used, color vision required, visual monotony; Hearing: telephone, transcription, background noise.
