Job Description Summary Under the guidance of the Supervisor of Nuclear Medicine, will perform a full range of Nuclear Scans. Job Description Sunday - Monday, 7am - 5pm, 10 hour shifts, NO CALL Nuclear Medicine Technologist (Per-diem) ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Department policies and procedures Hours of work, OT policy, paycheck distribution Punctuality and attendance, use of time off, vacations Policy manual ID badges Clocking in/out

Patient care Patient reception, identification, and explanation of procedure. How to contact and confirm a translator if needed Injections Cardiac imaging, processing and analysis SPECT Labeling and transfer to printers

Quality control/equipment operation Perform daily intrinsic/extrinsic floods Performs weekly bar phantom/grid Perform uniformity test and COR of gamma camera using a radioactive source Performs dose calibrator daily constancy Log in/out isotopes Performs hot lab, clinic, and injection room surveys Conforms to electrical safety guidelines

Radiation Safety Radiation safety procedures - spills Radiation safety manual Pregnant policy Radioactive trash procedures; gloves, syringes, needles

General health and safety requirements Fire safety, RACE, location of fire extinguisher and escape routes. Emergency preparedness plan Hazardous materials and location of MSDS Medical emergencies Complies with current CDC hand hygiene guidelines Universal precautions Biohazard waste policies – sharps

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education: Completed an approved Nuclear Medicine Program and be certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB.) or ARRT Certification. Minimum Work Experience: Prefer one (1) to two (2) years of experience. Prefer prior experience however, new graduates will be considered. Required Licenses / Registrations: ARRT (NM) OR NMTCB - ARRT (NM) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (Nuclear Medicine) OR NMTCB Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board, MA State Nuclear Medicine License Required Classes/Skills: BLS - Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) Required additional Knowledge, and Abilities: Employees must produce their CEU records to their manager prior to start date and on an ongoing basis thereafter. Technologists in this position are responsible to maintain CEU activity on-site for a period of two years longer than the technologist’s last licensure renewal date. License/Registration/Certification Requirements: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) (Including courses offered through SSH), INSTRUCTOR- Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) (Including courses offered through SSH), Nuclear Medicine Technologist - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB), Nuclear Medicine Technology (MA) - Radiation Control Program (Massachusetts), Nuclear Medicine Technology (N) - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
